Dynamic Engineering: Miscellaneous Design

I have created and recaptured several various products at Dynamic Engineering. These designs have ranged from connector press fit support plates to cable backshells. These projects are often customized for single products or specialized for a certain classification of products. Whenever available, I will provide a link to the product page that these are associated with.

SpaceWire Cable Backshell

I created a backshell for the custom SpaceWire Cable Dynamic Engineering offers. I iterated on this design several times, as I had very tight spatial restrictions, due to the size of the connector and the pitch that the mating connector is place on the PCBs. It is made out of aluminum and machined with a CNC mill.

5IP Carrier Extender Bracket

I had been informed that DE's standard extender bracket for full length PCI/PCIe board would not work for the PCI5IP and PCIe5IP.

The issue was that the IO connector that goes through the front panel bracket protruded out too much to fit in standard sized opening within the chassis of the client. I modeled the entire system to create the angled cut in the bracket, which you can see here, to ensure the board could be installed and that the bracket still gave sufficient support to the board.

Standard Extender Brackets

These brackets are DE's standard support options for full length PCI/PCIe cards. I recaptured these products into SolidWorks and tweaked them to ensure they follow the requirements stated in the specifications for these board types.

Most of the full length boards used the large variant, but the miniature one is utilized whenever there is a requirement that would either interfere with the large bracket or when it would not be necessary. This one you can see being used on the PCIBPMCX2.
