ClarCor/Parker Aspire Clip and Jig

Clarcor (now owned by Parker) came to us with an interesting problem. Their industrial filters had retaining clips that couldn't handle the pressures of the liquids being forced through the filters. They were snapping and breaking whenever they were used. We developed a clever clip that was both flexible and strong enough to withstand an enormous amount of beating. This strength brought on a new challenge of how to install them onto a filter stack, so we then created an entire jig to be able to handle that process, shown in the first animation.

The new clips were designed with the amount of force and pressure exerted on them in mind. We created a spine to the clip that was able to flex and adapt to the changing fluidic forces exerted on them, while making sure the filter stack was secure. To see a closer look into the clip design, watch the second animation. It has a lot of little details included!

We tweaked and tested both the clip and the assembly jig many times to find the right formula to solve each problem. For a break down of the jig's features, check out Driven's page on the clip and jig. I've also added a gallery below to show several close-up images of the jig's design.
