Cadence Rack Badges

Cadence Design Systems asked us to handle designing, managing, and setting up manufacturing of their Protium X1 branding features. This was an interesting project to work on, as they wanted their large rack badges to be illuminated fully. We worked with our partners to figure out how to edge-light the badges and scatter it for a smooth and uniform look, utilizing clever use of textures on the product, custom parts to hold the lights, and reflective materials.

One of the challenges we tackled was creating a custom sheet metal part to hold everything together, working with manufacturers to push some of the forming processes to build it. The metal matched a curved surface on the front of their rack system and we used existing venting patterns to sturdily mount the badges. We worked hard to make the badges look and feel integrated into their system and give it a professional and powerful feel.
